TRAFFIC PURSUIT: I66/Leesburg Pike. 4/20/17. Around 3:21 p.m., Tysons Urban Team officers were called for a report of a fraudulent transaction at the Apple store. A man in the store presented what employees believed to be a fraudulent ID. The suspect left and got into a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, where another suspect was waiting inside, and they drove off. Officers located the car near Leesburg Pike and I-66 and initiated a traffic stop. The suspects did not pull over and a pursuit began. It ended in Arlington County near North Sycamore Street and 22nd Street N. when the driver crashed into a fire hydrant. The passenger, James White, Jr., was taken into custody at the scene. The driver fled from the car on foot. He was described as black, between 20 and 25 years old, about 6 feet tall and 180 to 200 pounds, wearing a white T-shirt and white pants. White was taken to the Adult Detention Center and charged with attempted larceny by false pretense and possession of fictitious identification. During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle struck a car on the roadway; no one required medical attention.

ROBBERY: Southland Ave./Frenchmen Dr. 4/20/17, 9:30 p.m. A 22-year-old man was waiting at a bus stop when another man pulled up in a car, implied that he had a weapon and demanded that the victim hand over his “earbuds.” The victim complied and the suspect drove away. There were no injuries. The suspect was described as white, in his 20s, driving a yellow, four-door car.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
Detectives Investigating Homicide at Senior Retirement Community in Fairfax
ROBBERY: 8200 block of Gunston Corner Lane (Shell Gas Station). 4/21/17, 2:12 a.m. An employee of the station heard a noise outside and went to investigate. He found a man and a woman trying to pry open the coin box on a vacuum cleaner. He approached them and took the keys out of their car. One of the suspects displayed a knife and a brief struggle ensued. The man grabbed his car keys and the victim ran inside to call police. The suspects drove away in a small red SUV. The victim did not require medical attention. The suspects were described as black, 30-35 years old, with thin builds. The man was wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt with green stripes down the sleeves and blue jeans. The woman was wearing a black T-shirt, gray pants and a black bandana on her head.
