NARCOTICS VIOLATION/ASSAULT ON A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER/ARREST: An officer initiated a traffic stop for an equipment violation around 12:50 yesterday morning in the area of Lincolnia Road and Gloucester Road. Once stopped, everyone got out of the car and ran. The officer caught up to 22-year-old Alexandria resident, Deybi Cruz Saravia, who put up a fight while being taken into custody. A second suspect, 25-year-old Edwin Solarzano Saravia, then circled back to the scene and aggressively approached the officers. He fought with them as they took him into custody. The third suspect was not located. Cruz Saravia was charged with possession of cocaine, obstruction of justice, and assault on a law enforcement officer. Solarzano Saravia was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer. No mugshots available.

ASSAULT: A 19-year-old man was assaulted by a group of men around 7:10 last night in the 11800 block of South Lakes Drive. Two other men who attempted to intervene were also assaulted by the group. The victims sustained minor injuries. The suspects were described as black, in their 20s, between 5’7” and 5’10”.
