HIT AND RUN: 7910 Richmond Hwy (Walmart), 10/14/2017, around 4:16 p.m. A woman in a wheelchair was hit by a car that traveled on to a grass median in the parking lot. The driver exited her vehicle, but then got back in and drove away. Witnesses helped officers locate the car and driver nearby. Sonja Reid, 49, of Alexandria, was arrested and transported to the Adult Detention Center. She was charged with hit and run, driving while intoxicated, driving on a revoked license and several other drug-related offenses. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
ROBBERY: 3800 block of El Camino Place, 10/14/2017, around 9:35 p.m. A man was delivering a pizza when he was approached by someone who displayed a weapon and demanded money. The suspect, who was described as 5 feet 7 inches tall in his early to mid 20s, ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim did not require medical attention.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 6318 Leesburg Pike (Euro Market/Mobil Gas Station), 10/13/17 around 11:30 a.m. A group of people entered Euro Market, the convenience store at Mobil Gas Station. They displayed a weapon, demanded money and left the store. One person sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY: 3200 block of Rio Drive, 10/14/17 around 9:30 a.m. A man advertised a cell phone for sale on an app and arranged to meet with someone who responded. The buyer displayed a weapon and demanded the phone. The suspect was described as a white man between 25 and 40 with black hair. The victim was not injured.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY: 11501 Sunrise Valley Drive, 10/14/2017, 10:58 a.m. A man was seen on surveillance inside a school while it was closed. He was located nearby and arrested. An investigation determined the same suspect had also entered the building unlawfully a few days earlier. Walter Elsey, 27, of Georgia, was taken to the Adult Detention Center and charged with two counts of unlawful entry.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 6900 block of Hechinger Drive (Mercado La Colonia), 10/15/17 around 5:22 a.m. The business was broken into and items inside had obviously been moved around. It is unknown whether anything was taken at this time. Detectives are investigating.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
RECKLESS DRIVING/ACCIDENT WITH INJURY: Patriot Drive/Ivymount Court, 10/14/2017, around 3:10 a.m. An officer observed a vehicle driving erratically on Little River Turnpike and conducted a traffic stop. The driver gave his license to the officer, then sped away and crashed into several parked cars. The driver then took off on foot, and the two passengers in the vehicle were transported to the hospital, one in critical condition and the other non-life-threatening. The investigation is ongoing.
