MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION
ROBBERY/ARREST: 7800 block of Belford Drive, 11/2/17 around 5:10 p.m. A man was approached by two or three others who assaulted him and stole items from his pockets. One suspect, 22-year-old Anthony Brooks, was located by officers nearby and arrested. He was taken to the Adult Detention Center and charged with robbery and obstruction of justice. The search for other suspects continues.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
ATTEMPTED CARJACKING: Commons Drive/Rectory Lane, 11/2/17 around 6:35 p.m. A man entered an occupied car and made demands. After the victim drove a short distance, the suspect got out and ran away. Kristian Portillo, 18, was arrested and taken to the Adult Detention Center. He was charged with attempted carjacking.
