Sully Police District – Our Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating after a pedestrian was hit and killed just before 7 last night. Detectives have preliminarily determined that 33-year-old Rainer Montero Castillo, of Chantilly, was attempting to cross at the intersection of Westfields Boulevard and the entrance of Sully Park Shopping Center. The driver of a Nissan Murano travelling northbound on Westfields Boulevard hit the man as he was walking in the road. There is no marked crosswalk at that intersection. Montero Castillo was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with detectives. Neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors. At this point, no charges are expected.
