SHOT PERSON/ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE: 8100 block of Fletcher Street, 12/19/18, 9:24 a.m. A man was unloading his handgun and accidentally shot himself in the leg. A witness and officers rendered aid. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not life threatening. Officers confirmed the man lawfully possessed the gun. The Office of the Commonwealth Attorney will be consulted for any possible charges.
PURSUIT: I-495 Capital Beltway at Arlington Boulevard, 12/19/18, 9:55 p.m. An officer tried to stop a car for a traffic violation but the driver refused to pull over. Carla Diaz Lozano, 30, of Woodbridge, continued to drive her car several miles before she was guided to a stop by officers. Diaz Lozano told officers she did not know they were trying to pull her over. Diaz Lozano was issued summonses for driving without a valid driver’s license, texting while driving, and misdemeanor speed to elude.

NARCOTICS VIOLATION/WARRANT SERVICE: Little River Turnpike and Beauregard Street, 12/19/18, 9:04 p.m. While patrolling the area, officers saw four men sitting in a car parked in a restaurant parking lot. When officers went up to the car to make sure they were okay, they smelled marijuana. One of the men got out of the car and ran. Officers quickly caught him and placed him under arrest. Marijuana and a large amount of cash were found in his pockets. Christopher Morris, 26, of Alexandria, was charged with possession of marijuana, obstruction of justice, and was served with an outstanding warrant for felony failure to appear in court.

ASSAULT ON A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER: 3500 block of Moncure Avenue, 12/19/18, 7:11 p.m. Officers were called for a man who was fighting people. Medics were also called to check on the man who complained of pain in his knee. The man was detained by officers. When medics attempted to look at his knee, the man head-butted one of the officers in the chest. Jeffrey Fisher, 58, of Chantilly, was charged with disorderly conduct, drunk in public, and assault on a law enforcement officer.

BURGLARY: 1810 Library Street (AT&T), 12/19/18, 1:45 a.m. Officers responded to the AT&T store for an alarm. Once they arrived, it was determined someone broke into the business and stole electronics.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY: 6600 block of Rock Island Road, 12/19/18, 3:00 p.m. A resident heard their rear sliding glass door open. They looked towards the door and saw a man walk in while saying, “Is anybody here?”. The man saw the resident and their pit bull and backed out of the home. He pulled two patio chairs together and sat down. When the victim questioned him, he said he was homeless from Washington, D.C. When the victim asked him to leave, the man got up and walked towards the metro station. The victim described him as black, 18 to 20 years old, about 5’8” with a slim build. He was wearing a black knit cap, black jacket with tan fur on the hood, and black jeans.
