Be Bold, Be Courageous, you are FCPD! Congratulations to Session 83 Graduates.
Fairfax County – Chief Kevin Davis is pleased to congratulate Session 83 on their graduation from the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy (FCCJA).
Session 83 is comprised of 28 newly sworn Police Officers and 1 Animal Protection Police Officer (APPO). Officers began the FCCJA on Dec. 5 and graduated today after completing a 25-week training academy. The academy consisted of basic instruction in the procedures, techniques, and principles of law enforcement, incident report writing, criminal law, traffic enforcement, and First Aid. Officers also received implicit and generational bias training; a training designed to help officers build trust and positive relationships within their communities.

Session 83 is a unique and diverse class where 10 different languages are spoken by 19 different officers. These languages consist of Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, Hindi/Urdu, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, Hebrew, Croatian, and American Sign Language. Session 83 is also in line with the FCPD 30X30 pledge aiming to increase the representation of women in police recruit classes to 30% by the year 2030. Of the 29 new officers in this class, 8 are women (27.6%).
After graduation, officers will be assigned to one of the FCPDs eight district stations and enter a 12-week field training period. During field training, officers will be paired with a primary and secondary Field Training Instructor (FTI) where they will be evaluated on the skills they learned in the academy.
