Costly Return: Thieves Arrested After Returning to Tysons Corner

McLean Police District – The Tysons Urban Team (TUT) detectives arrested a crew believed to be responsible for multiple fraudulent transactions and recovered property belonging to U.S. Postal Service (USPS).

At 2:14 p.m. on December 15, detectives responded to the Diesel store in the McLean area for a suspicious person call. A store employee recognized several suspects from a fraudulent purchase that was made a few weeks prior. Detectives familiar with the case quickly responded, apprehended the suspects, and located their vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, detectives located a USPS mail tote and three USPS post office box keys. As detectives continued their search, they recovered numerous stolen credit cards and a wallet belonging to a victim that was currently shopping in the area.

All five suspects were interviewed and three of them were subsequently charged and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. The other two suspects were released pending further investigation.

One count of Conspire to Commit Credit Card Fraud, one count of Possess Fictitious ID, one count of Petit Larceny. ($2,500 secure bond)

Adrian Wakil Ellerbe, 22, of Washington, D.C.

Four counts of Credit Card Theft, one count of Conspire to Commit Credit Card Fraud. ($1,000 secure bond)
