Juvenile in Custody After Sexual Assault in Reston

Reston Police District – A juvenile is in custody following an abduction and sexual assault that occurred in Reston.

Last night, just before 11:30 p.m., officers responded to the 11900 block of Winterthur Lane for a rape that had just occurred. The suspect approached the victim, an adult woman, in the laundry room of an apartment building, threatened her with a knife, and sexually assaulted her. 

Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau responded, quickly identified the juvenile as the suspect and took him into custody. The juvenile is being held at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center. He was charged with Rape, Forcible Sodomy, and Abduction with the Intent to Defile and is being held on no bond. The victim recognized the suspect from the area, but he was not known to her.
