Fairfax County, VA – FCPD is proud to highlight the vital work of our Property and Evidence Section and celebrate the dedicated professionals who keep our systems running with care and precision.

Who We Are:
The Property and Evidence Section is part of the FCPD’s Resource Management Bureau. The team is made up of six professional staff members, one sworn officer, and one Lieutenant. Together, they are responsible for managing more than 140,000 property and evidence items.
This behind-the-scenes team plays a foundational role in the department’s success, exemplifying the highest standards of service through their attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to justice.
What We Do:
The Property and Evidence Section ensures the security, integrity, and proper handling of all property and evidence collected by the department. Their work supports successful prosecutions by maintaining a clear and accurate chain of custody.
Additionally, they facilitate the return of personal belongings to victims and their families, a service that brings closure and compassion during difficult times. Their work is essential not only to the justice system but to the broader mission of the FCPD in combating crime and serving our community.
