Update: Man Charged in Fatal Stabbing

UPDATE: Matthew Cook, 34, of Louisiana, has been charged with second degree murder from this morning’s stabbing in Springfield. Cook remains under guard by officers as he receives treatment from a nearby hospital. Upon his release, he will be taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held with no bond. This is the county’s 6th homicide of 2019.
